Esta p\u00e9rdida del equilibrio econ\u00f3mico se achaca en gran medida a los actos vand\u00e1licos, que seg\u00fan Bonopark han mermado la disponibilidad del servicio y han propiciado que el Ayuntamiento deje de abonar la parte del canon variable -un 20%-, sujeta al cumplimiento de varios indicadores de calidad. El Ayuntamiento de Madrid afirm\u00f3 en una de las \u00faltimas Juntas de Gobierno que existe la firme voluntad de mantener el servicio, sin especificar si la gesti\u00f3n del mismo ser\u00e1 p\u00fablica o privada.
